I've seen this on Free Jinger this morning and had to see if it was discussed here!
It's a terrible, terrible name. Not just weird but ugly sounding. If they wanted to honor this theologian, Charles is a perfectly decent name.

They obviously wanted the honoring aspect to be more apparent. Charles could be for anyone, Spurgeon more quickly communicates who they're referencing.
