of course you get to decide what constitutes a horribly unattractive name, to you. I just find it curious that you would rebut someone else's acceptance of it, or else, reply to someone else's reply as such. I don't see where Pink Princess asked for your opinion... photo image_zps50478a13.jpg

Actually, Pink Princess stated a fact -- He is named for Charles Spurgeon, a preacher who still makes an impact to this day. -- and based her opinion on this fact. I was unaware of this fact when I made my answer, as I rarely read the responses of others before posting my own. So what I was doing was stating that knowledge of this fact has slightly modified my opinion (it would be okay as a middle name) but not fundamentally changed it (but still not as a first.) It was a statement of how knowledge of the fact has influenced or not influenced my opinion, not a rebuttal of her opinion. If I'd happened to read her response before making my own and included this in my original response, I don't think you would have had a problem with it yet it still would have been based upon the knowledge I gained by reading Pink Princess' post.
