I like it. I once knew a Sibelle.

When I first saw it a thought it was pronunced the same as sibyl.which I think is a nicer name but I don't like either.

Haven't really considered it before. I enjoy the sound of it; not wild about how it looks on paper. I doubt most English-speakers would intuit the pronunciation; likely to get a lot of Sybil guesses or "si-BEL" or "SIE-bel", etc.

I adore it! The Romans referred to her as Magna Mater, which amplifies the appeal monumentally for me. There's a poet named Cybele who's affiliated with my university, but she pronounces it "sih-BELL," which I don't like as much as "SIH-buh-lee."

I'm also warming up to Cybele (as well as Sybil, Cyril and Cymbeline)!

I love it. Classy but cute too. I think it would have pronunciation and spelling problems though.

I love it, and find it both strange and pretty. I'm really confused as to why it wasn't on my list, actually. Weird. But, honestly, it's a very charming name and I would be delighted to meet a Cybele. In reality, though, I'd be more likely to use Sybil.

Most people won't attach any meaning to it, but if they look it up ... I don't find fertility goddesses particularly inspirational, so if you like the sound, what about Sybil, or Sibyl?
