Could it ever work as a name, or do you hear "jizzum"? Is it too hard to say?

I like it. I always found prisms to be fascinating. As a name, it feels very colorful with a mysterious edge to me. I think it'd be pretty interesting on boys as well as girls.
For some reason I think of "resin" whenever I hear/see it, but I kind of like that imagery too.

I don't see it working as a name at all. Saying that I have a friend named Crystal.

I've heard of this on a girl once before. I thought it was cool, kinda kooky though. It's a pretty recognizable word in the USA, so I don't think too many people (Americans, at least) will have a hard time saying it or associating it with any other word...

It's not hard to say but I don't think it would make a nice name for a human, maybe for a pet. I have a hard time seeing the professional world taking Prism seriously as an adult.

I don't hear "jizzum" and I don't think it's too hard to say. I think it can work.

I think it sounds too futuristic, but it isn't the worst word name I've heard. I have no idea what a jizzum is.

It's kind of neat. I generally prefer words in the MN spot anyway so if it was there, I wouldn't mind seeing it. I do kind of hear prison like everyone else but NBD as a mn.

I don't hear "jizzum" at all but "prison" instead, which is really negative to me...gives the impression of being trapped.
I did (briefly) know a woman who used Prism as a trail name, although I think she spelled it Prizm...she was a physician's assistant from Florida, approx 5'1", stout, middle-aged, had a rainbow colored mohawk, and was very, very talkative...friendly, though.
Anyway, no, I don't like it as a name for a person. It would work better for a pet imo.

As for Prism, I can see it for a hiking trail, but not a person, or a pet, really, unless the story about how you found the pet has to do with a prism.

I think you misunderstood what I meant by trail name...it's like a nick name, not the name of an actual hiking trail.

It's like a NN/alias used by long distance hikers...at least in the US. I think it started on the Appalachian Trail. Usually they're word 'names' which reference something about the hiker's personality or personal history. They're mostly just used to sign trail logs and among other hikers. Some examples...Nimble, Hotshot, Sleepwalker, Argo, Bright Side, Mosey, Awol, Sherpa, Hail Satan, Caribou, Tangy, Rojo, Waffles, Chuckwagon...they're particularly useful when you're meeting a lot of people in a short time period...easier to remember than traditional names.

It's weird. Is Prism refractory? har, har. I guess there is a cool metaphor there, but it's a little reachy.
It could work ... there are equally silly, and more silly, choices of words for names, that actually get used (Crimson, Plum, Story ...)

I think it's really pretty. The colours I get from it really are just like a prism - pink into violet and yellow, with underlying white. I don't hear "jizzum" at all, maybe "prison"... I think it could definitely work as a name for an animal...and honestly I'd think it was a super rad person name. Imagine if you found out your friend Pris wasn't a Priscilla but a Prism! I'd flip out.
