[Opinions] Laie
I was watching a TV show today and there were two sisters name Laie (pronounced Leia) and Hunter. What do you think?

I find Hunter deplorable on either gender, and Laie doesn't look as if it should be pronounced like Leia at all. Lie-a, perhaps. As a sibset: Can do better.

I don't get Leia out of the Laie spelling at all. It looks more like LAY-ee or LIE-ee.ETA that Hunter for a girl is especially unappealing!

Laie (prn. LIE-eh) is the German word for layman. I don't think it makes a good name and I'm not sure why anyone would pronounce it Leia. Also, I can't stand Hunter on a girl (it's halfway decent on a boy though).

How on earth can Laie be pronounce Leia? My first guess was LIE-eh, then LIE, then LAY, then lai (as in lair without the R). But Leia, nope.
And I think Hunter is ugly and sounds aggressive, especially on a girl.

I guess maybe Laie would make sense like... in a German way? As e's at the end of German names tend to be pronounce as "-ə". Still very weird.Hunter on a boy is annoying enough, on a girl it's even weirder. It just sounds so violent to me, I'm sure that's not the intent, but... ugh. Also that's a very weird sibling set. The names don't go together at all really.

Never in a million years would I have guessed that was Leia. :PI don't like them. Hunter in particular rubs me the wrong way...every Hunter I have met has been a douche.
