Before I knew how it was pronounced, I hated it but that's because I would say de-CLAN which made it sound like "de plane, de plane" from that TV show, Fantasy Island. ;-) Since I learned of the correct pronunciation, I love Declan. It's quirky cool, imo. I like the combos Declan Patrick and Declan Thomas.
