Naomi hands down. Love the sound, the spelling, the quirkiness. Everything. It's hovering near entry to my top ten and has been forever.

I much much much prefer the sound of Noemi. Naomi is one of my least favourite sounding names ever.
And Noemi is so pretty and European. I looked after a couple of sweet Noemies while I lived in Switzerland, so positive association for me there
ETA: I do love the French version Noemie the most. It looks the most complete to me.

I hate both, I think these names have an awful sound to them. But at least Naomi has a Biblical connection...

I like both, but prefer Naomi, probably because it's what I'm more used to.

I prefer Naomi. I can't help but feel like...Noemi sounds slimy to me; something about the last two syllables. Of course, the more I keep saying it, the more it grows on me. Ah, well.

Noemi is honestly sort of difficult for me to say. The oh-eh transition from the first syllable to the next isn't so great. I pick Naomi for that reason.

I don't really like either name. I think Naomi seems like such a celeb name or something that it has an air of pretentiousness. Shame, because I do see the appeal.
I know one Noemi and one Naomi, and I will say Noemi feels more awkward to say out loud (probably because English speakers are more used to Naomi).

I'm always confused when you say this, because I have never known anyone to act that way about a somewhat-unusual name just because they were from a small town. My hometown is small, and I have met people with some weird names. People just roll with it.

This is a German / Swedish area, especially in small towns. There is a name for this way of thinking - Will Farrell talked about it. No one wants to stick out, everyone wants to fit in. My in-laws are very much like that. Anything 'different' is a way of getting attention. They're pretty insular. It's really hard to explain, because they aren't the norm anymore, they're a bit of a throw back. But the throw back is around enough that it's still an issue?
IDK. They don't dye their hair, they don't have piercings - even ear piercings, etc. It really is influenced by the Swedish culture, though.

I guess it's just different there. Where I'm from, we don't have ONE ethnic background that heavily influenced our local culture, so that probably has something to do with it.

They're both pretty, but I like Naomi better as it's more generally well-known and easily pronounced.
