I love it! I prefer it with an extra T. But I love Jett for either genders.

I don't like it for a boy or a girl. It seems pretentious and silly. It doesn't even convey "black is beautiful" the way Ebony does. It just makes me think of airplanes or water sprays.

I used to play a game as a kid where I had to build a virtual farm and when I started I was automatically given a dog and a cat. Then cat was black and I thought Jet was the best name ever for it regardless of gender because 'jet black' (yup, I was a creative kid!)

I love Jette as a nn for Jeanette. I've been thinking more about using Jetty on its own.

To me it's a boy's name because the only Jet I know is a 5 year old boy.

I think it could be unisex, though. Used for a girl, it reminds me of Joan Jett.
