[Opinions] Slayde
Friends new baby.
Yep.
The only thing I've got to say is that I do actually prefer it to Blayde.
But that's it's only redeeming quality, which isn't saying much.

Horrible. Reminds me of the word slayer.
I like Slade...but only with that spelling.
But... it's not even the correct word for the past tense of slay...
Oh. I suppose they put in the y to make it more of a fn? Which is a pity. If they'd left it as Slade, he'd have been named after a very prestigious school of art!
As for Blayde ... here in South Africa we've got a government minister whose given name is Blade. Not the worst of the bunch by any means, but he's an old-style Commie so he gets a bit doctrinaire at times. And Comrade Blade is straight out of a Dr Seuss imitation.

Better if it was spelled Slade.
If it were spelled Slade, I'd prefer it to Blade...
But with a Y, I think I actually prefer Blayde, because the "slay" part really sticks out to me.

Good point. I think you're right. I was trying to figure out what bugged me about the Slayde spelling.
Either way, ugly name all round.
