[Opinions] Agnes
The post below on Nestine reminded me...I never thought this day would come, but I'm kind of liking Agnes lately. It reminds me of a little lamb. What are your thoughts on Agnes?

I love the name Agnes, bit too old fashioned for me to use as a first name

Agnès is the name of the ancestor I can trace my lineage back the farthest to, so it has a special place in my heart. And the French pronunciation is rather nice. But I also like the hag-chic Agnes has going on.

Agnes Matilda is very attractive to me. I love the French pronunciation, also.

I love Agnes, though I prefer Inez.

I love Agnes. It's one of my long time favourites. I've always had the impression it's a name that people either love or hate, nothing in between.

It's in my top 3I know it's considered "old fashioned" in the US, it's very popular among children where I live though. It sounds harsher in English, but I love how it sounds in Swedish. I also like that it's equally fitting for a baby, a child, a grown up, an elderly woman, and also suiting no matter what she does for a living.

If only it would stay Agnes, I'd like it just fine. But it invariably morphs into Aggie, which is unthinkably awful.

I love Agnes. It's sweet and soft and just feels friendly to me.A lot of people would say its ugly, but I really don't think so.

I like it a lot. It's a family name for me.

I really like it. There is a celebrity who named their daughter Agnes Lark which I always thought was a lovely choice.

I never used to like Agnes, but I find it quite sweet now. I can see it working nicely for a little girl these days.

I use to absolutely hate it, but I've come to like it recently. I still really don't like the Ag- sound, but at the same time... I sort of do like it? It's ugly on the surface, but has a gentle and warm vibe. My favorite variation is Agneta simply because of a fairytale I read and because it sounds more youthful.

Exactly my thoughts! And thanks, Agneta is nice. :)

I like it, but it doesn't remind of a little lamb. It reminds me of a witch or a nun.I think Agatha and Inez are more usable.

I like it. It's do for a comeback. I like Agatha too

I have a soft spot for it because it was my grandmother's name. Meaning I'd use it as a honoring middle name. It's ugly, but I try to think of it as charming ugly instead of just plain ugly.
