I think it's pretentious.
I can see Kambiz, the modern form of the name, on a real person.

That's a totally new name for me. I don't think it would be usable on a real person. Sounds like some camping equipment. "Our new caravan, Cambyses."

I wouldn't use it on a real person... I like the nick name Cam... that is the best thing I can say about this name. lol

In Italian it is Cambise...
But in both variant it a name which is only found in a history book...for me.
Maybe as earthnut said it could be a good pet name...
But it is too cultural and historical far from me to be a good given name. It is a name that people say "Are you an ancient statue or a real person?" LOL.
