[Opinions] Heathen and Winsome
Today, I was on the phone with someone and they asked me my name. It was a legal matter, so I gave them Haven. They immediately go "Heathen?" ARGH! Haven is a commonly used word in the English language - why can't people get it in their head?
NOw that is done, I have the name du jour - Winsome Humphreys. :-)

You Winsome and you lose some...
This name should be lost. LOL :)
Siri, I thought you legally changed your name from Haven, or do you just go by a different name and not have the "paperwork?"
And yeah, people are annoying some times lol. Heathen and Haven sound very different to me!

It makes me wonder...
Winsome is a pretty name, but then you get those corny people who would inevitably say "Winsome, lose some..." Like me. :o)

Winsome is nice. I'm not sure I'd actually use it, but it's pretty.
It's amazing what people hear when someone says a name they may not be familiar with! :b My friend Bethany used to get "Stephanie" all the time, and my friend Gracie (NOT Grace, lol) always got "Tracie". Now both of those names are much more common, but seeing as Haven isn't very common, I can totally see how people might 'mispronounce' it, even though I find it rude. :b
My name is Heather, one letter away from--but sounds very different from--Heathen, but I've never gotten that pronunciation. Unless it was on purpose. :b
Winsome is quite nice. On either sex, actually.

Oh. I meant, "seriously, what is wrong with them? what is so wrong with pronouncing haven?"

LOL.
I'm so used to it. Heaven, Heather, Hailey, etc. The way I handle it depends on my mood. This morning, I was in a vicious mood.

Heathen? That's really sad--but helpful, in a way. One of my Sims has terminally bad taste in names; her children are Dementia Mae Vicious and Effigy Aaron Reaper. I think she'll have to have a Heathen. I've already planned a Finally. :D
Winsome Humphreys is a very beautiful name. It's up there with Englebert Humperdinck.

So, it wasn't too bad...but still!
