[Opinions] Re: Mirabelle vs Mirabella
By coincidence I was thinking about these names myself yesterday - we've just had a General Election in Australia and a politician called Sophie Mirabella came on the television. Mirabella is her last name (i.e. surname) - but I thought to myself that it would make a lovely first name. It strikes me as far prettier and more usable than Mirabel and Mirabelle - which seem a bit soppy to me. Mirabella is not soppy - rather spunky and feminine at the same time. Miri would be a lovely nn.
