I think it is an OK name. I will always associate the name with Wheel Of Fortune. And I think there would be a problem with mispronouncing the name wrong.

I think in the US, at least, it would be an uphill battle to stop people from pronouncing it VANN-a.

The only time I've heard this name is Vanna White, the lady who spins the letters on Wheel of Fortune. I can't say it really appeals to me in any way.

I'd probably assume VAH-nah but I could see people pronouncing it Vann-ah.

1. There was an American contestant/hopeful apprentice on the Apprentice (the UK one) called Vana, with the pronunciation you like, and I got curious about the name at the time. It's okay, I like that it's different, and memorable in a good way, but I prefer other -ana names more.

2. In my mind ana is AH-nuh and anna is ANN-uh, so I would say Vana as VAH-nuh. There might be a few Vannas but it's not too difficult to correct.

I'd prefer it as a nickname for Ivana. I automatically say VANN-a, but I agree that VAH-na sounds nicer.

Means "habit" in Swedish, so to me it just looks strange. I prefer Vanna.

I immediately pronounced it the same as Vanna. I think the risk is very high.
