Just came across the Indian name Saranya. It seems to be mainly used by Tamil speakers.

It sounds nice. If I didn't know it was Tamil I would guess it was a mix between Sara and Anya.
One site on the net claims it means "surrendered"; I don't know if this is true since I obviously don't speak Tamil!

I think it is beautiful. I had a friend named this growing up, her family did indeed speak Tamil. I don't like that it looks like Saran, and it sounded closer to Sarenya when my friend or her siblings said it.

It's pretty, but sort of reminds me of Saran wrap. That could maybe be fixed with a slight spelling variation; maybe Syrania, or Cyrania.

True about Saran Wrap (lol the iPhone capitalized that??). I actually think part of the reason I'm drawn to it is because it looks like a mash up of Sara and Anya.
