Honestly - what do you think about Prairie for a girl? Silly?
Ugly?
Hippie yippee hobo free spirited rainbow-ish?
Or beautiful?Does the sea exist
Because of our longing?

Well, yes, it is "hippie yippee hobo free spirited rainbow-ish." I like it. But then I came of age in hippie times, and in a hippie town.It also reminds me of the Muppet character Prairie Dawn, which I remember from when my son was little. But would I have used it? No.

Honestly, the only thing I think of when I think of Prairie as a name is the muppet Prairie Dawn.

I think it would be difficult to say in everyday life, but I do think it's pretty and fits with the Piper, Pippa, Paige, Peppa trend =)

I love it! A fellow graduate student beautifully bears the name, and the prairie has always enchanted me.

It's not ugly but it is hard to say clearly, and is a pretty hippie-ish choice. Apparently even hippies don't use it to speak of.
There is a Muppet on Sesame Street, has been since before my time, named Prairie Dawn. Which I think is very pretty for a character.
