[Opinions] Corinne or Corinna?

Which do you prefer and why? Any MN suggestions?

I love Corinne! Corinna is nice, too, but people will associate it with that song "Corrina, Corrina".Middle names, hmmm...Corinne Alexandra

I prefer Karina to both but out of the two, I say Corinne. Just because Corinna seems ambiguous in pronunciation and if it isn't the -ee-na ending, it sounds awkward.That being said, I find Corinne a very cold sounding name.

Corinne.Corinne. Not sure why, as I usually like A endings. Just seems more.crisp and clear, I guess.

I've only ever known one, and she was Corinne.I don't usually enjoy spondees, and if your name is Corinna you get the rather cheerful Herrick poem as a bonus; plus, you can use Corinne if you like, but if you are a Corinne there are no alternatives available. So, Corinna for me.

CorinneI really like Corinne. Corinna is nice but Corinne has such a underused sound to it...there's not many names (that are used where I lived) that sound like Corinne and that's what I like about it.

Corinna. Corrine is kind of harsh and ugly to me, and Corinna is worlds better.I think a one-syllable middle name like Corinna May or Corinna Pearl would work. Something kind of vintagey.

Corinna Pearl is lovely. I like Corinna May but I prefer Corinna Mae.

I like both and have been trying to figure out which I prefer. I'd think I'd go with Corinne which seems less overwrought. I like the way it looks as well.

I love both! If I HAD to choose... I'd have to go with Corinna. I could always call her Corinne for short. :)

Corinna.I like Corinne too, but Corinna more for the '-a' ending since I have a weakness for girls names ending on an '-a'.

I guess this depends on how it is pronounced. I like them both said like kor-een and kor-een-ah. Of the two I prefer Corinne. It's just simpler. Plus, I gravitate towards names that don't end in -a.

I tend to pronouce Corinne as ko-RIN and Corinna as ko-REEN-a.

Hmm. I don't see why an 'i' followed by a double consonant would be pronounced 'ee' though?

Sorry! I meant to post that against the original post!In any case - yeah, it makes no sense. It SHOULD be rin not reen. Still, I have always heard it pronounced reen from people with the name Corinne. They might be all wrong but it influenced my preferences. Corrine with the rin sound is pretty too. Corinna with the rin sound is not-so-much, imo.
