I've heard it before, but I can;t recall exactly when. It was definitely in teh netherlands. I don;t think thsi is useabel in an english speaking country (made-lies has some pretty negative connotations).

I have, and I'm pretty sure it's Dutch. It sounds nice, but to my Anglophone eyes it looks like "made lies."

No, not really-as a combination of Madeleine & Liese assumedly
(not recommendable/with a slight ick factor:Made = maggit in the German-speaking part)

Madelies looks Dutch, but I've never heard it before. Are you sure you don't mean Madelief?
Madelies is most likely a combination of something like Madeleine and the very common name Lies.

I have seen it. It's Dutch and I think it's pronounced mad-eh-LEES or MAD-eh-lees. It's cute. But I don't think it would work in an English-speaking country. It looks to much like "mad lies".

I've seen Madelief before but not Madelies. I really like it if pronounced mad-elise. It has the "mad-" prefix that I think sounds delicate and pretty and the "-lies" ends it on a soft note.

Aaah. Madelief is awesome. My heritage is Dutch and my grandmother's name is Dasie so it could be a cool nod to both as a middle name. Now to try and convince DH. His family is already unable to handle Roelof.

It looks like Mad Elise is how it should be said? Not doing it for me. I do like Lies and Madeline, so I do appreciate it aesthetically.
