Last days I saw the original version of Harry Potter (so in English) and I found a horrible think...
Hermione was pronounced as..Har-MIE-a-nee...
It is the ugliest thing of the world !!
But...
How can a person pronounce it in that way !!!
It is a simple name with Greek orin...

I am not English speaker. I pronounce as hehr-mee-aw-nuh.
"Her-my-oh-nee," she said slowly and clearly.
Definitely not her-mee-oh-neh, but it also doesn't start with "har."

I say it her-MY-o-nee. The 'o' sounds is nearly indetectable though.
On a side note, in the Dutch translation (how I read the first three books) her name is Hermelien, when I switched over to English for the fourth book, it took me a few tries to get the right 'flavour', settling on teh above. It was coincedentally also the book in which she teached Krum to say her name.

her-MIE-uh-nee.
I love it, I think it's beautiful. Perhaps it sounds strange if you're used to something different.

I pronounce the name Hermione as her-MY-oh-nee. I've always had a soft spot for the name because of the beautiful David Bowie song "Letter to Hermione" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PC0RSXOemQs
He doesn't actually say the name in the song, but since the real Hermione was a British woman, I'd assume it was pronounced similarly to above.

I just say her-MI-ni

^This is how I pronounce it. It's the "authentic" Greek pronounciation. I hope the link is not broken, I'm bad at writing pronounciations and this one was the best recording I could find.
I don't think the English pronounciation is ugly but it sounded odd to me when I first heard it on Philosopher's Stone. I would have never guessed it right, I knew nothing about pronounciation rules when I was 10 and I still make mistakes sometimes.

I don't think hər-MIE-ə-nee is ugly. I think it sounds nice, sort of heroic.
hehr-mee-OH-neh is probably nicer when an Italian says it, but I actually think it would be uglier when said by a person with an American accent!

It's weird, I always assumed the "eye-o" thing was Greek. It's only in the English pronunciations of Greek names, apparently. Because the normal way to pronounce "io" in English would be "ee-o", but with Greek words pronounced in English it ends up as "eye-o".
Hi !!!
I think Hermione is wonderful too. I love nsmes with classic origin and I'm a Potterhead.
Unfortunatelly an Hermione with Italian surname is ridicolous also with the Italian pronounciation. It is like saying... Rihanna Rossi or I don't know Jennifer Paglino.. it is simply horrible and kitsch.
In these case I would live abroad where people can choose every name without horrible effects with their surnames TT.

Hi !!!
Oh Well...
One person that pronounce it like me!!
I know that 'in English is correct' but it is the pronounciation itself that is fool imo.
Ciao Ariane!
Mi chiamo Rossana non Rosanna XD.
I can't remember...why can you speak Italian?
Ti saluto calorosamente anche io. Ti auguro una buona settimana! A presto!

I say Her-MY-oh-nee, and I think most or at least most in places where Harry Potter is popular would say it like that. But I do know that the orignial pronunciation is Her-mee-oh-nee, but I personally find that it reminds me of the word 'meanie', so this is one of the cases where I wouldn't use the original pronunciation. I absolutely love Hermione, mostly because of the Harry Potter character; it's very high up my list.

hə-MIE-ə-nee is correct in English. Other languages probably have their own pronunciations.
I say it as Her-my-knee
Same!
One of the books, "The Goblet of Fire" I think, has Hermione explaining to one of the visiting students from another country how to pronounce her name, and she does say it's Her-MY-o-nee. He was saying it Her-mo-ninny.
It's not a simple name, I don't think, and it's Greek pronunciation.

I remember that bit! That's how I learned how to pronounce the name. I'd been saying"Her-me-own" in my mind.
