[Opinions] Brandon
Came across a lady Brandon today while at work. Even though I normally like masculine names on women, I can't say I'm a huge fan. Maybe cause I don't like Brandon on a guy either, ha. She was in her 40s which is surprising since a lot of people seem to think naming girls with boy names is a new thing.
I also came across a little boy name Cru who was having a meltdown in the drive up over a lollipop. Didn't catch his brothers names.

I don't like it on a woman, but OK on a man. To me, Brandon is a place-name-Brandon, Manitoba.
Brandon sounds really awkward on a girl.
I think the sound is... okay on a a girl, maybe, but not the spelling.
I can't think of a good "feminine" spelling though. They all seem trendy and ugly... Brandenn, Brannden, Brandyn, Brandynn? Bleh!
There's no point though. If I wanted a Bran name for a girl I'd say Branwen or Branna or something. Brannen might even work.

I don't like masculine names on women, and Brandon is especially bad because I think it's overly butch. That's why I don't like it even on a guy.
I like Brandon better on a woman than a man I think. I truly dislike it though. It just feels whiny.
I don't think I like Cru. Did you get to see spelling or might it be Crew? Either way it's not attractive.

I didn't get to see the spelling, I was just assuming. That's the way I've always seen it spelled. He reminded me of a Cru, lol.
I agree on Brandon. It is very whiny to me. But I think I'd rather see it on a woman. I wonder if she goes by Brandy, I don't think I would. Id rather be a lady Brandon than a Brandy.

I'd rather be Brandon than Brandy as well. It sounds less ditzy.
Doesn't put off any airs? Well, that's quite the opposite of my opinion! This is what I wrote back on 4/25/2012:
I hate this name with a passion. It tries way too hard to be oh-so-ruggedly handsome and masculine. It just hits you over the head with it. "Hello, my name is Brandon. I'm just riding into town on my prancing and pawing stallion from a long day of rounding up the dogies. I have rugged chiseled features, a few days' growth of beard, a cigarette rakishly hanging out of my mouth, a body hardened by hours in the saddle, and my cowboy hat dangling over my eyes in an intriguing fashion. Just gonna swing myself down from the saddle now. Stand back, ladies! My name is Brandon!"
