I'm not a big fan of the name Bertha, and I'm currently in a theater production of Jane Eyre so I'm very much associating the name with Bertha Mason right now.
Berta is better than Bertha, but still not my favorite... I like Marta a lot more than Martha. I do think Martha could make a comeback, though! :)

Not in the book Jane Eyre. Her middle name is only mentioned in that wedding scene where Briggs comes in. The rest of the time she is called "Bertha Mason" or "Bertha." Maybe there's another version of the story where that detail was added, but not in the original book.

Also with how popular superheroes are, I can see Martha making a return in the future!
