Help[Opinions] Annabel
What are your opinions on Annabel? It used to be one of my favorites, then I kind of forgot about it. Today I heard it again and realized that I still really love it, it has a great sound and meaning.
Do you prefer Annabel or Annabelle? I only like it spelled Annabel, the longer version just looks to sweet and sugary to me.
Do you think it's too common? It seems to have been rising quickly for a few years but had a rather huge, dramatic fall in 2015. I am wondering whether that is because of the horror movie Annabelle. Do you think it will continue to fall or rise again?

I had never met a real-life Annabel / Annabelle before college (Freshman year was back in '09)... where I met at least 5 of them. I think they were all from the East Coast, mainly New York, so it's probably more popular there than other parts of the country (I've definitely never encountered any in the Midwest).
Can't say I'm a huge fan, to be honest. The name feels very... prissy. Princess-y. More than most of the names I do like, so that's saying something. If I had to choose a spelling, I'd go with Annabel (though I usually prefer -e endings), since that looks less prissy.

I prefer Annabel. Annabelle is a bit cutesy and over the top, imo.
Annabelle is quite common where I live; I've met/know of several little girls named this.
I think the reason for the fall was probably because of the horror movie, but I can see it rising again as it's one of those princessy type names like Isabelle and Arabella.

I prefer Annabelle, it just looks complete. I think it is pretty for a child but harder to picture on an adult.

I don't like it at all. It tries to be too sweet.

I really love Annabel (not Annabelle) and I would use it if it wasn't so... tied to this time of princess names and if it wasn't just a sort of result of the Isabella trend. It's almost like Jenna is to Jennifer.
Aside from the associations, I think it's beautiful. I adore the name Anna and I love -bel endings. It's just so... pretty.

It might be more common in other places, but I have only ever met two, and one of them would be probably seventy now if she was still alive. The other's maybe six or seven.
I think it's cutesy and annoying, like all Belle/Bell/Bel names except possibly Isabel.
