Help[Opinions] Beacon / Zenith
Do you think Beacon could work as a boy's name? What about Zenith? Which do you prefer?

Please don't add Beacon to the list of -n names for boys! So far, from real life, I have: Aden/Aiden/Aidan, Jaiden/Jayden/Jaden, Hayden, Kaiden/Caydn, Brayden, Taylen, Taygen, Baylan/Bailin, Deakin/Deacon, Keelin, Zayden/Xaydan, Jabin, Shayden, Cailen/Kaylan, Jamin and Javen. Beacon will just get lost in amongst all these other boys. As a child care worker, these are the most difficult names to remember as there are so many that sound the same!
As for Zenith, I have heard of one Zenith and think it's kinda cool, it bridges a gap between word names and X/Z names.

Beacon seems nerdy to me. Reminds me mainly of cliche phrases containing the word, like beacon of hope, vaguely religiousy.
But, it's not significantly dorkier than Deacon or Walker or Canyon. IMHO. Feels to me like it'd go with brothers like those... conservatively creative type names, that are just about namey but not quite, and someone convinced themselves because it was different but didn't sound that different.
Zenith is more plainly eccentric, to me. Brothers like Phoenix, Ocean, Aries, Apollo.
I like it more than Beacon, but the meaning seems slightly gimmicky so I wouldn't favorite it. I think I'd get used to it as a name quickly IRL.

They're both awful. Zenith is an electronics brand, and Beacon sounds like it could be one also.

I never really let a baby boomer brand or cartoon spoil a name for me :)

It's still around and been around a long time, and since it's never really been used as a name in any meaningful number, that's all most people, of any age, are going to associate it with. Yes, it's a common noun but that noun is not used in common speech much.
