I also like the sound and the look of Linda. I think it probably needs about another ten years before it makes its comeback.
Lynda is just plain ugly; no doubt it started as an attempt to set its owner apart from all the Linda people, but now there's no call for that.
Melinda seems flabby and lacking in personality, and it shortens to Millie which is a big no-no.
Belinda on the other hand has got energy and bounce. I'd use it before Linda, and I wouldn't use Melinda if I had as many children as a herring.
