[Opinions] Marigold
I'm into flower names lately. What do you think of Marigold?

I absolutely adore Marigold! And not just because little Marigold on Downton Abbey was so cute, even though she's did bring it to my attention again. I think Marigold's such a bright, cheerful, happy name, and I really enjoy saying it out loud. I love the vintage vibe, the imagery and personality, and couldn't care less about the gloves. Right now Marigold is one of my favourite names and won't be budging.

I love flower names too. I wouldn't use Marigold as a fn, but for a mn it's adorable.

More like wise advice than a name. Forget about lurv; marry gold.

I go back and forth. Sometimes I love it but sometimes it feels too restrictive. Meaning I can easily imagine a full grown woman who does not feel "marigold" fits her real personality. On the other hand, the nns Mare, Mari, and Goldie are options that can be used if she chooses!

I adore it! It's been a favorite for quite some time, though I fear that its popularity is ascending.

They might have used it on Downton Abbey, but on a real person it's sickly sweet.

I like it. I enjoy most floral names (though I most likely will never be able to use them, as both my boyfriend and I have floral last names and it would just be too much!)Marigold is striking and less frilly than some other florals. It can shorten to Mari or for the more adventurous, Goldie. I have met a little Goldie before (though it was her full name) and she fit her name perfectly- she had beautiful bright golden blond hair!

I adore Marigold although I'd be more likely to use it as a mn. Still, it has a cute potential nn option (Goldie) as a fn. Marigold would be a refreshing change to all the girls named Lily and Poppy. (I still love Daisy and Rose, lol.)
