[Opinions] Re: Some interesting names from Swedish BAs
Is that how the world looks at Sweden?! Wow.First of all: Yes, we tend to be secular, but I would say we are very respectful towards religious people (well, yes, sadly there are anti-Islamic people around, too, but they are not in majority). Second: I would guess a majority of the Swedish people - including me - supports the Palestinian fight and a two-state solution, but that doesn't mean we are against Israelis, just Israeli politics. Anti-semitism is sick and it's definitely not tolerated in Sweden.Third: Swedish media personality Tilde de Paula (I think she was born in Chile) named her son Zion about ten years ago and I haven't seen anything negative being written about it.Fourth: My hometown of Uppsala is the Swedish centre of a Christian (unfamous...) congregation (or rather sect) and many children growing up in this congregation have Biblical names like Benjamin, Jonatan, Jemima, Debora, etc.The reason I wouldn't choose the name Zion is simply that I'm not religious, not that it's pro-Israel or something.
And I hope everyone will accept this answer, because I hate discussing politics.BTW, I think Zion is common among Rastafarians, too.Does the sea exist
Because of our longing?

Fifth: A lot of Swedes wouldn't even know that Zion is a religious name. ;-)
