[Opinions] Reuben

I don't love Reuben but I don't like Riley at all. In this scenario I tend to default to the more established or classic name, so there you go. Reuben.
And honestly, I'd be more amused to introduce a Reuben "...like the sandwich" than I would be embarassed. I'd rather my kid share a name with a sandwich than have a name I don't like.

It is kind of annoying when a first name is used to name an object and then it's shied away from for that reason. Like Mercedes -- you always hear, "It's a car." And then when you point out that it was a name before it was a car, and in fact the car was named after a person who had the name Mercedes, you hear, "Well yes I know that but what difference does that make? Now the car is well-known so that's what people think of."
However, I don't think the car has rendered Mercedes unusable because I have known two young women named Mercedes. My reason for disliking the name Reuben have nothing to do with the sandwich, and if I liked the name I wouldn't allow the existence of the sandwich to deter me.
