I like it, and this is my preferred spelling. I find it to be calm and no, I don't associate it with any religion.

I LOVE Jonah! He's recently dropped from my top boys to second place (switched with Reuben).

I went to a Christian school aged 4-11 but don't identify myself as Christian now I'm an adult. Because of my childhood though I do associate Jonah slightly with the Christian Bible story. However, I would still willingly use this name and justify myself to anybody who confronts me or my child for not being Christian - I think in this day and age, while respect is still important, fluidity across genders/religion/cultures is really important and increasingly common!

There are better ways of having a son known as Joe.

Jonah really wasn't much of a role model as prophets go! As a non-religious person who has used Peter, David, Mary, Elizabeth and Anne on my own children, I'd say it is fine to use names that appear in the Bible as long as they are widely accepted and have been in use in a secular context for several centuries. But Jonah ... it gives an impression of fundamentalism rather than merely belonging to a culture where (the more popular) biblical names are frequent.

It's alright but I prefer the sound of Jonas. I wouldn't assume any religion if I met a Jonah.

I love the name Jonah, but I love Biblical names. To me anyone could use it because it's a name, but I'd be surprised if it was someone who wasn't Jewish or Christian, as it's so tied to the Biblical Jonah.

I know a Jonah who is ten and Jewish.
His sibling's name is a totally non-Jewish-sounding popular surname name, though, so I don't really associate the name with him being Jewish.
Jonah is not at all to my taste (sounds too archaic, and too feminine as well) but it's not bad, it's in fashion, possibly even headed for great popularity.
I would not expect a totally non-religious person to use it, but neither would I be surprised if one did.

I like it. I grew up Catholic so I'm well aware of Jonah's story in the bible. But I would not assume a Jonah came from a religious family. Good luck.

I'm not too keen on it, personally. I think it does have quite a few religious connotations, but that's not necessarily off-putting. I just don't like the way it sounds.

I really like it and I think it works well regardless if a religious family or not. I find it to be a usuable name for pretty much any guy. Very handsome & classic

I don't think it's too "religious" for an atheist / agnostic to use. It fits right in, IMO, with many of the trending "hipster" names.
