[Opinions] Artemide
The lady who sold me towels today was called Artemide. She pronounced it 'Ar te MEE dee'. I hadn't heard it before and think it's lovely!http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/167578

Wow I've never heard it before. It's lovely. I like that pronunciation better than the Italian.

Very nice, though Artemisia is still a favourite.

Artemisia is wonderful. So interesting to look at, yet pretty in sound.

Pretty! I love pretty much every form of Artemis but this one is a new one to me. I like it.

I haven't heard of it either. I wasn't sure if it was masculine or feminine, to be honest. It sounds Greek sort of like Hermione and Penelope but also reminds me of some masculine names such as Artemisios. I don't really think Artemide rolls off the tongue, it is a bit awkward to say. It isn't horrible, might grow on me, but I don't really like it.

Oh, yes, it's lovely! I love Italian versions of Greek names: Taide, Iside, Iride, Zenaide, Artemide. According to the BtN submission (http://www.behindthename.com/name/artemide/submitted), the second syllable of Artemide receives the stress; I think I prefer that pronunciation.

Interesting name. I would've said ARE-tih-meed, as it really reminds me of Artemis. Ar-te-mee-dee is okay, but very reminiscent of Archimedes.

Reminds me of a Handel opera. + I prefer a frenchified pronunciation in my head, Art-i-meed.Nice to come on here and see Artemide and Olympia being asked about. It fits my mood.

It is cool, though it reminds me too much of Arcedmide's Claw, which was used as a defensive device against naval threats!
