[Opinions] Corinthia
I came across this name recently and thought it was quite regal and rolls off the tongue prettily. Do you think it's usable?
The association with the Greek columns is a positive association.

I like it, I think it works better than most place names.
While I would never use it myself, I think it is great.
I really like both the look and the sound. It has a strength, but still looks and sounds feminine.
Also, I like the nickname potential in Cori or Thia.

I think it is usable, and very pretty. It has a lovely colour palette of peach, gold, and ivory to me.
What sort of nickname would be encouraged? I think Cora would be nice (preferable over Cori, but that is also rather darling in an impish way).

Yes, Cora or Thea.
Even though I majored in classics, my chief association with Corinthia is the New Testament, so it's too overtly Christian for my liking.
Orinthia, on the other hand, enchants me.

Actually, I didn't mention it, but the letters to Corinth were the first thing that popped into my mind. It's one of the reasons I wouldn't use it myself.
That said, it's much nicer than most place names.
I wouldn't have considered it Christian though, more regional. Like naming your child Moriah.

Heaven forfend should I suggest Christianity in any way; how brazen of me! For the record, I chose to be baptized when I was 25, so I don't really have any aversion to Christian references at all, and this is definitely one I'd consider subtle compared to say, Mary or Joshua. A couple of other male names come to mind.
Would every region in Greece elicit the same reaction?
Orinthia is okay. Not as sweet as Corinthia to me, though. :)

I chose to be baptized when I was 15, at my (Lutheran) confirmation. But I don't consider myself a Christian today.
I'm sort of in love with the sound of this, honestly, though personally I'd keep it as a GP.
