[Opinions] Orla
Do you like Orla? It probably has one of the most beautiful meanings in existence so I am not sure whether I really like it so much because of the sound or if the meaning influences me. Opinions? If you don't know the meaning first type an answer, then look it up and see if it changes your opinion and add that to the post :)

I love Orla! It's simple, cute and beautiful. I'd absolutely use it for a future daughter, but my hubby doesn't like it that much :(
I love the meaning! The sound, though, is not a favorite. A bit too close to "oral".
I really like the sound and meaning. It's a nice link to my middle name which means princess (first means beautiful, my dad did well haha), even though golden doesn't really mean much to me. It's rapidly rising where I live, and I can definitely see why.
Sorry I am not fond of the name, definitely not the sound and the meaning is okay. It is too similar to Oral and it kind of reminds me of Orwell.
I think the meaning of Orla is okay and it's definitely not a negative meaning I have just come across others that I prefer. Like Marina means "of the sea" and Luna is a name that means "the moon". Mira means "peace" in one language and "sea or ocean" in another. Aurora means "dawn" and is connected to the Aurora Borealis. Iris means "rainbow", is the name of a goddess, and are beautiful flowers. Marguerite is a French form of Margaret which means "pearl" in Greek but is also what the French call a daisy. Philomena has many great possible meanings. Golden Princess is definitely cute I just prefer other names with other meanings.

I think its beautiful. A lot of my favourite names for girls fall into a similar pattern of two syllable names ending in A, and a lot of them have an L sound as well.
The meaning is fine, but isn't the type of meaning that appeals to me.

We had an Orla at school.. unfortunately most of the boys called her 'oral'
I lost interest in the name after that!

It's a pretty name.
An acquaintance just named her daughter Órla and I thought it was a bit pretentious to add the accent since neither she nor her husband are Irish. It's a pretty enough name, but not one of my favourites. I didn't know the meaning before, but it doesn't grab me....one of my pet hates is hearing people describing their daughter as their 'princess'
It does have a beautiful meaning, doesn't it! I enjoy it - I'd love to know a person named Orla. It's got both a nerdy smart-girl vibe as well as a deeper, more mystical feeling to it. I like that about it!
