Aw, I'm very happy for you both. Great choice. So many ways to combine Hestia. From your stellar list, the ones that bring out its (her?) best side to me are:Hestia Beatrix
Hestia Joan
Hestia June
Hestia Margaret
Hestia Sibyl -- wowzaAdding: Hestia Lilith, Hestia Clio and Hestia Jonquil :0)

I really like it. Right now it's on my considering list as Hestia Wildrose. I just love the imagery of it, I think deep green forests and magic. Anyway, Hestia's a great name!

I like both Vesta and Hesper, so I should like Hestia...it's just that häst (pronounced "hest") means horse in Swedish, so it makes me think of a horse going "neeeeigh!"

I like Hestia too, though I like the Roman version of the name, Vesta, better. It has darker, more modern feel to it I like.

It does make me think of a witch, but unfortunately not in a nice Harry Potter kind of way :) I am thinking more of the classic fairy tale witch with a long nose, a wart and a big black hat. Oh and a cat on her shoulder. And because the name means 'hearth/fireside' I imagine that witch cooking something in a huge cauldron, something green. So it's not a very pleasant association even though I would love this for an evil witch in a story! I think it's pretty harsh sounding too. I love Agnes, Audrey, Lily, Lucy, Margery, Marigold, Mary, Rose and Violet. I also kind of like Rosemary, Primrose and Mildred. I think I would prefer all of them over Hestia.
