Apparently derives from Greek word meaning resurrection. Pretty cool, though I personally wouldn't name my kid that!
If you say you wouldn't name your child that just because of the meaning, here's something interesting: it has the same root as Anastasia. Anastasia is even closer to sounding like the Greek word for resurrection (which is basically 'anastasi'). And that name is amazingly popular worldwide. So that's some food for thought.
I googled it and found out it's Greek, but to me it looks like a creative spelling of "honesty". NMS.

Its sound is too similar to Amnesty(International) so...no.
After that its final i in Italian is a mark for plural so it is too strange. It remember me the word 'onesti' which means 'honest' but referred to a group of people not just one.
