Liliana is so beautiful, but sometimes I find it a bit syrupy and overly frilly. Lily is a lovely name too.Today I'd go with Liliana and call her Lily sometimes, but tomorrow I might change my mind.

Hi !!!Liliana seems too heavy to me because of its -ana end.
I prefer Lilia. It is elegant and aristocratic but simple and fresh for its sound. Some numbers.. (I told you that this database is avallable only since 2016? You can search names popularity for births from 1999 to 2015). I use it always because I'm really glad that finally Italy has one!Liliana is decreasing in 2000s.
2014-15 were its worst years with 46 Liliana.Lilia instead is slowly increasing.
In 2014 were born 38 Lilia the highest ever (so since 1999 because before we haven't data). In 2015 fewer Lilia (25) but it is clear that this name will grow up. I'm really glad for Lilia! Great name!Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Oh thanks! I am excited too! I am so happy they have statistics now. But technically they should also be able to create a top 100 from as early as 1900. Do you remember the link to the book you sent me? In the preview I saw that it has the data taken twice per decade (e.g. 1941, 1946, 1951, 1956) from 1900 on and they also have a list from 1876 or something. They have the data for Rome, Bologna and Palermo so as they have data from a city in the north, a city in the south and one in between they should be able to create one for Italy using these data sets. It would be so interesting to see!Lilia is nice too! I like it. Yes, Liliana seems unfashionable in Italy now. I wonder if it will make a comeback. Does it sound super dated to you? I know it came as high as #2 sometime in the 20s. Does Lily work in Italy on its own?

Hi !!Lily?
No it doesn't work.Less than five Lily every year since 1999 to 2015.
No increasing. It is quite strange because it is as simple as Emily...and Emily is very trendy nowadays! It is #47! It is crazy! Why not Lily which is so similar and so simple for our grammar and quite familiar too?I don't understand Italian trends! They have no sense TT.Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
