[Opinions] Albina
What do you think of Albina? I've liked Alba for a while, but I've never thought about Albina before. I ran into it the other day, and I think I like it. I want to hear other people's impressions of it.

I like Albina but I prefer Alba.

Love Alba. Timeless. Not big fan of Albina because of "albino." Nothing wrong with the word, but it is distracting. Love the old fashioned charm of Albinia though. :0)Update: Albinia is not in the database? Where is the nn Binnie supposed to go? BtN is unfair to Binnies! :0P

Binnie is an adorable nickname.

I rarely like feminine names with any B in them (Isabel, Elisabeth, Beatrice excepted). This is no exception. I do not think it's pretty and I've never liked Alba either. The LB sound is very unattractive to me.

I like it pretty well.
It's neat, and not nearly as stuffy as Alba.

Sounds like a female albino.

This was my first thought as well. It is a pity because I think I would otherwise like the name.

Looks like it more so than sounds, I think - al-bee-na vs. al-bye-no. That did cross my mind, unfortunately. Thank you for your feedback!

Albino can also be pronounced 'al-bee-no', though (like in the UK). I'll admit, that was my first thought when I saw the name. It looks pretty, but is probably only usable where 'albino' is pronounced with a '-bye-' sound.

I never knew it was pronounced that way in the UK! That definitely takes a bit more of the appeal off, since it could be a problem for a person who wants to travel.I still like it, but it might be going into the "names I like but not for a real person" pile.
