I'm between neutral and like. It sounds nice enough to me but I don't know if it's enough to say I like it...

Daphne is nice, I do like it. It's not common and popular at all and would also age well.

I like the name Daphne but as with Phoebe I don't like it enough to use it as a first name. I encourage other people to use it and I will consider it as a possible mn for a future daughter.

I also dislike the nn Daffy, as well I dislike Daph as a nn. I actually think Daph/ Daf is worse since it sounds so similar to the word daft. I would never use a nn for a daughter named Daphne and I don't feel that a Daphne would get an automatic nn except from an impish sibling or a teasing friend or enemy.

It just makes me think of Scooby Doo. That's the only thing I can think of.

I was a huge Scooby-Doo fan growing up (still am, if I'm really honest) so all I can think of when I hear this name is a ginger, purple-clad, animated teenager! Not a terrible association but a strong enough one to put me off using this name personally.

To hear or see this name on a young child I think I would be rather pleased. Daffy makes me think of Daffy duck who is, of course, male and also not very nice for the most part but I think Daffy could be cute and would grow on me with the right child.

I quite like the sound of Daphne, it's soft enough without being too flimsy.

Daphne is really cute and endearing. Personally, it has a future pet written all over it (dog or cat). ;-)

I've only known two women with this name. The first was a co-worker I knew quite a few years ago. She was at least a decade older than me and wanted everyone in the office to call her Daffy which I never understood since I find that much less attractive and just plain silly when compared to the full name. The other is a teacher who spells it Daphney. Despite the goofy spelling, she's a real knockout with a great outgoing personality who does the name justice. The reason I mention this is because if someone is on the fence about an uncommon name, sometimes meeting an attractive, kind or outgoing person with said name can often change his/her perspective.

I don't like Daphne at all. It's the 'phn' in the middle. I think Daphna sounds a little better, but it's still not my cup of tea

I love it. It was likely going to be my oldest son's name if he had been a girl.

Lovely name I wouldn't mind seeing more often.

I love Daphne. I love the meaning, I love that it's from mythology, I love that it's just different enough without being bizarre. I think it could suit someone of any age. It's very friendly and approachable to me.

It has been on my radar lately. I've always liked it, but now I would seriously consider using it. It's beautiful and uncommon. It reminds me of the character from Frasier, which is not a bad association. I agree that "daffy" is problematic, but that's the only drawback.

I love it! It was almost my daughters name, but we settled on it as her first middle name. I actually love Daffy as a middle name, even though it means silly. My scottish grandmother always used it as bit of an endearing term towards us when we were silly.
