[Opinions] Penrose

I kind of like it, and definitely for a boy. It reminds me of Pendragon and Arthurian legend, which I like. I'd probably stick to it in the middle maybe, but it's been on my considering list for a while.
It also reminds me of Pendragon.

Penrose is a type of tube that lets pus and fluids to leave the body. Not a great visual for a name.
Reminds me of an 80's cartoon

Yeah, I think the sidekick was/is called Penfold or something, my mum's talked about it before.
Maybe for a character but I don't see it working in real life.
It could be a cool middle name for a boy (e.g. if it was a family name), but I wouldn't use it as a first name.
I like it as a guilty pleasure first name for a girl. Taking the "pen-" part to mean "chief, top" from ancient Welsh/British instead of from "pen-" from Latin for "almost", I like to think of the meaning as the top/leading rose, i.e. the supreme rose. It's a rather cheesy but beautiful feminine meaning.
I view Penny and Rose as feminine. But Pen could be either.

Hi !!
Penrose is too surnamey imo.
And if it could be used so...yes. It is feminine.

Roger Penrose. Penrose tilings. Sort of brainy-aspirational because of that. Also like Melrose ... apartment-y. I don't think it is too feminine because it is surnamey, and because Ambrose exists. But some people would likely interpret it as a girl name if they didn't know. Penstemon is my GP Pen-boyname.
I was JUST thinking about Pen and Peg on boys the other day (specificall Peregrine with Pen or Peg as nicknames). So yeah, I like Pen(n) on a boy and don't even mind Rose, but together, Penrose definitely seems fem. It would work best way think if it happened to be the mothers maiden name or something.
