[Opinions] Kitara?
This name just popped into my head, is it real? Also, would it pass as a acceptable first name?

It's not bad. Maybe a bit close to guitar.

I think Kitara is a very pretty name and Kit makes a great nn. I made up the name Valana/ Valanna for a character I was playing years ago. I also made up Mariadne. I really like some made-up names and Kitara is a pretty one.

Hi !!!Mariadne is lovely!
It is a combo between Mariana and Ariadne.
Or also a particular variant of Marianne.
It could have a future!

Hi !!!!I think about the musical instrument..sorry.It is also similar to the name Sitara which means "star" in Urdu and Persian. I like this name very much.

I think it would be acceptable, it's actually not too bad. It sounds a little exotic. ---------Audrey, Martha, Jeanette, Phoebe, Veronica, Jaclyn, Victoria, Clara, Apolonia, Laurette, Stephanie, Tracy, AnnetteAnthony, Damien, Alexander, Valentine, Maximilian, Daniel, Vincent, Matthew, Christopher, Russell, Randall, Nicholas----------------Rate my PNL: http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/166097/112886

I don't think it's a "real" name, but it probably has been used by someone somewhere. It sounds like it could be a variant of Keturah or cithara, which is a Greek musical instrument similar to a lyre. Honestly, I much prefer Keturah to Kitara because I think names with known provenance are preferable to invented ones, even if they are just altered spellings.

Idk if it's real but it makes me think Katara (The Last Airbender). I think it's totally acceptable as a name... like... for a girl, right? Yeah, totally acceptable.
