[Opinions] Jamesina and Thomasina
What do you think of these two names? Would they seem overly forced on a real person? Which do you prefer?

I am love with Thomasina right now! I cannot use it due to my boyfriends last name being too similar (we plan on getting married in the next couple years). I do prefer it as a middle name, though. I currently have Adele Thomasina on my "unusable list". There's currently a youtube couple with a daughter & her middle name is Tommasina. It works in real life for them.
Not as big of a fan Jamesina, however, I do not like James as much as I like Thomas. It's still ok though. I love -ina names.

They are both okay. They are nicer in theory. I like how they remind me of the late 1800s or early 1900s, they seem classic and historical. But in real life, they are kind of long and awkward to say. I think I prefer Thomasina.
I prefer Thomasina.
Jamesina has always felt forced and a little bit awkward. Also sometimes when I say it outloud it sounds a bit too similar to Jameson which is a brand of whiskey. Jamesina isn't a name I dislike but it's only okay.
Thomasina doesn't feel forced but like Henrietta it does feel like an obviously feminized male name. Henrietta and Thomasina have always felt like the perfect sibling pairing for both of them.
Thomasina also reminds me of the character Mrs. Thomasina Tittlemouse by Beatrix Potter.

I don't like many obviously feminised male names - they usually reek of 'we wanted a boy', but I do love Thomasina and I'd use it.
Jamesina, on the other hand, looks ridiculously contrived - maybe because the 'es' ending of James always looks like a plural to me. Anyway, I don't like Jamesina and I'd be amazed to hear it on an actual person

Hi !!!
Definetly neither.
They are not my cup of tea sorry.
Jamesina looks better anyway.

How is everyone pronouncing these names?
I'm pronouncing both as 4 syllables: jam/jem-a-see-na and tom-a-see-na. I agree that pronouncing Jamesina as james-ee-na would be 'forced'.

James-EE-na and Thomas-EE-na. Same with all the other Scottish -ina feminisations.

Jay-muh-seen-uh and Tom-uh-seen-uh.
I'm kind of liking Thomasina, although I'm not sure why. I'm not even usually a fan of -ina names. It just flows so nicely, and feels a little dramatic, exotic, but not forced. Jamesina I think sounds very forced. It isn't easy or pleasing to say in my opinion. I think it's the fact that James ends in more of a Z/S sound, that's difficult to tack -ina on to. Thomasina leads on much more naturally from Thomas.
I like Jamesina and love Thomasina.
Both are usable to me.

A woman named Tomasina is a regular customer at my work, and I can't decide yet whether the name suits her or not
Yes!
I am completely in love with Thomasina.. I adore it so much but I don't think i'll ever get to use it :(
I don't like Jamesina as much though.

Exactly how I feel. Jamesina isn't intuitive to pronounce, at least for me, but Thomasina goes quite well.
I have a cousin (female) who is named Kendra, after her father, Kenneth.she's a twin, and her sister is Kelly.
The family did try to get two names derived, sort of, from Kenneth, but couldn't think of any.

Jamesina is okay in theory, but I don't actually like it when I say it out loud. I keep thinking of John Cena, who must have been in a meme or something because some kids at school reference him all the time. It also seems kind of forced.
Thomasina might be a bit over the top and old-fashioned sounding, but I like it. My preferred nickname for it is Maisie, but Tamsin is okay too.

John Cena is a WWE pro wrestler who is known for being more kid friendly.
He does have a meme about him but mostly because he is a very popular figure. John Cena and the Rock are probably the most known WWE figures by the general public.

I always thought he seemed like an okay guy and I liked when he was a guest on Psych and on SNL, but then this summer I saw him in this short Fourth of July announcement and now I have respect for him:
