Do you think this name would be usable, for an American child? Or would it be too heavy/odd/nerdy/etc?

I love it! I definitely think it's usable -- Izzy and Sid are accessible nicknames.

It sounds/looks like: Theodore (#99), Salvador (#630), Isaiah (#49), Isaac (#31) Isabelle (#94), Isabella (#5). So, I don't think it's too odd-sounding.
It is old-fashioned/uncommon, which makes it nerdy: maybe about at the level of Ambrose or Ira? Whether that's *too* nerdy is up to the person using it.
I would consider using it, and I'm American...the vibe I get from it is kind of similar to Ezra, but less trendy.

I really like Isidore, but I keep forgetting how great he is! I've always seen Isidore as a sweet and equally awesome and handsome alternative to Theodore, but that's way less popular (a huge plus for me). I think it's usable (as much as Theodore), but I don't think I can really comment on that side since I'm not American. I don't think I've been much help, but thanks for reminding me I need to give Isidore some more love haha.
