[Opinions] Ebenezer
I've recently been feeling that this name has a really cool vibe. If it didn't have the
'A Christmas Carol' association I would consider using it irl. Opinions?:0)Formerly KatjaEidisMy PNL is now rateable!:

I don't care for Ebenezer because I don't like the "eez" sound, but I do love Eben as its own name.

The ending sounds unpleasant to me (words like wheeze and sneeze come to mind).I've never heard it in real life, so the vibe I get from it is mostly 'obscure biblical name'...other names I'd put in that category are Hephzibah and Habakkuk, though Ebenezer does seem a little more usable than those because of the possibility of Ben / Eben / Eb / Zeb as a NN...so maybe it's more like Hezekiah, which seems usable to me because it could possibly be shortened to Kai / Zeke / Zack.

I like it, and even like that it's another name for the Ben nickname. He could even go by Zeb. The associations is, unfortunately, strong. Personally, if I used it I would name a brother Ichabod.

I really like it! I think it's very cool. I agree it's hard to get past A Christmas Carol.I never would've thought I'd like it until I encountered a real life little Ebenezer, who was called Ben. I've since heard of an adult one too called Eben.I think it's a really warm, friendly name. And it's not that Scrooge is a bad association, it's just a very strong one.

I just cannot shake the Christmas Carol association. Plus it just makes me think of "geezer".

I love this name. We've actually been talking a lot about this name at home lately. I posted about it a while ago on BtN. I don't care about the "A Christmas Carol" association. I am sure most people do though. It's just too cool to be limited by the story. My husband knows two or three. One goes by Eben I know, the other one(or two) goes by Eb.
My combo is either Ebenezer Charles or Charles Ebenezer.
