[Opinions] Maiko
Hi everyone! What do you think of the name Maiko? It's a Japanese feminine name that can mean either "flax robe child" or "dance child." It's also a Japanese word that refers to an apprentice geiko, which is similiar to a geisha.
It's a name I've been debating on a character, so I'm looking for opinions on the name in general - not especially for real world use in a Western country or anything :)

Maiko is cute! I speak German and both Meike and Maike were very common in Germany and I think also somewhat common in Austria in the 70s and 80s. From my personal impression Maike was a bit more common but both spellings were used. They are pronounced MY-keh. I guess Maiko is MY-ko. I like it much much better than Maike and Meike. There is something really cute about Maiko. Is it dated in Japan to the 80s too? The only two Japanese Maikos I know were born in the 80s. Oh and I prefer the 'dance child' meaning.
