I love it - it's beautiful. No idea what other English speakers think, but I've come across a few American Chantals and always thought it was gorgeous and elegant.

It reminds me of my very sweet, hardworking, plump Mormon cousin in her 50s here in the US. I think most people I know here consider it a bit lower-class. I wouldn't use it myself, but I have good associations and think it has a pretty sound.
