[Opinions] Lucretia
Do you like Lucretia? I have at least two early American ancestors with this name. I feel like it would be a daring, but not-too-unimaginable-on-an-urban-East-Coast-child choice. I know some of the sounds suggest secretion, but the name might be interesting enough to override said association for some. Thoughts?

I didn't even think of "secretion" until I just read it. :-(
I had a great-aunt names Lucretia; though almost everyone called her Lucy or "Luce." I imagine Lucretia was just her "in trouble name," lol! I think she was named after an aunt back in Italy named Lucrezia.
As a name in the 21st century I think it's a bit much, even for east coast hipsters.

I love it!
the "creesh" in the middle is hard to get over. I don't think I'd use it on an actual child.
It makes me think of Lucretia Mott, which is a good association. It sounds like a very dusty, crotchety kind of name though. It needs a more modern middle name to go with it to give it some life and zest!
I adore Lucretia! It's so stately.
Americans pronounce it loo-KREESH-a.
I like its eighteenth and nineteenth century vibe, but I'm not crazy about it because of the "creesh" sound--as you say, it suggests the word "secretion". I prefer Lucinda, which has the same vibe but avoids the sound. Of course, your ancestors were named Lucretia and not Lucinda so I understand that's a point in favor of Lucretia for you.
It's lovely. Unusual but not outlandish
I think the typical "urban East Coast kid" would be more likely to be named Lucy or Lucia or possibly Lucille.
Lucretia is ugly ugly ugly. Not only that, it has ended up a cartoonishly villainous name.
