Help[Opinions] Norma
So, Clary informed me this morning that she has a friend named Norma, who is a girl, who likes to play ball, but no one can see the ball.
I am guessing that no one can see Norma either.
I have never, ever told her the name Norma, and we don't know any Normas (creepy right?). She might have heard it from a TV show or something.
Point of the post? WDYT of Norma?

I've only met one Norma. She's the stepmother of one of my friends from high school. She's in her mid-forties.

Norma in Italy is a rare name.
In 2001 only 16 babies were named Norma while in 2015 only 8!
This is because despire of the Opera character, in Italy there is a recipe called "pasta alla Norma".
After that in Italy "norma" is a word meaning "rule, regulation, usual".
So all these things make this name quite strange.

That's funny. I think it's kind of sweet and warm, but I think of Norma from Twin Peaks who is sweet and warm. Objectively it is kind of an ugly name though.

I never would've thought Norma was cute or anything other than frumpy, but my son has a girl in his grade named Norma Jean, and it is actually SO CUTE when you hear it IRL. At least to me. I don't like Jean at all, or really the combo Norma Jean, but Norma itself, pretty cute.
I think I'd prefer it in a combo more like... Norma Catherine? Something nice and classic, but not heavy.

Norma just makes me think of Sunset Boulevard. Can't say I'm very fond of it.

I've kind of lowkey liked it on and off for years. Not enough to use or even keep on my list but I think I'd be very excited to meet a small one.

There's a good reason that Norma Jean Baker changed her name, even though Norma Jean was quite in fashion at the time.
It's doughy and heavy and musty-smelling. If I was named Norma I'd be invisible too. lol
Norma Jean is like the go-to Norma combo. In Oklahoma, at least, I think I knew four or five of them, all of them my grandmother's age or thereabouts. Here in Delaware the go-to double-name combo is Margaret Ann, pronounced something close to Margurdan.
