With Tirzah, I would just let the original spelling be and make a point of pronouncing it TEER-sah and not TEER-ze.
I personally love both names as well! Tessa does sound better with Hattie & Meyer, but I don't think Tirzah sounds particularly bad with the set. I've personally never known a Tessa, but I have known one Tess. I'm 17 & have an 11 year old sister and I regularly look through her yearbooks and have never seen one there, either.
I think with Tessa & Tirzah you can't go wrong, so I'd personally just choose whichever one you & your SO like best, popularity aside!
