This name was posted not too long ago. To me, Lola sounds like a character in a children's picture book. I imagine a kids book called "Lola the Flying Pig" with a pink pig in a tutu soaring across the cover. Basically, Lola sounds like the name of a farmyard animal or a pet. It doesn't sound like a name for a person.

I like that it is short and spunky but I also get negative associations from it. First of all it means 'pain/sorrows' which I think is awful. Then it also kind of sounds like the name of a showgirl or stripper, it has a sexual image for some reason. I prefer the similar sounding Luna.
