[Opinions] Ophélie
Do you like it?
Is it better/worse than Ophelia?
How would you pronouce it? (Which syllable would you give the emphasis?)
How do you think your average English speaker will handle it?
Lia as a nn, or something else?__________________________________The human brain is a haphazard, messy machine that glitches at the slightest, strangest provocation.

I do like it.
It is better than Ophelia IMO.
It will be pronounced as o-FEE-lee in English.
I do think average English speakers can handle it.
Lia could be a nn. Phelie is another choice. How about Ophie?
Please vote on my lists, thanks!

I think the Oh-fe-LEE pronunciation is lovely, but might prove tough for the average English speaker. I suspect most people would pronounce it like Ophelia without the A -- oh-FEE-lee.

I love it
I like it more than Ophelia which I also love
o FAY lee
I think most people would get it - some people might take a try or two
I wouldn't bother shortening it

I much prefer Ophelia.

I love Ophelie! I can't put the accent on, my keyboard doesn't do accents. :( I am an average English speaker & I say o-fe-LEE as well. I don't think I'm a highbrow either. If I were to use Ophelie as a first (and not a middle as I do now), I'd probably nn Her something like "fairy" because I don't like Lia.

I like many French names and Ophélie is beautiful! In French it's pronounced oh-fe-LEE. The stress is always on the last syllable.
An average English speaker might pronounce it oh-FEEL-ee, perhaps.
Lia is a nice nn.

Hi !!!1 Yes I really like Ophélie. It is soft but shining. Shy but tryumphant at the same time.2 It is better than THE ENGLISH PR. Of Ophelia but it is worse than the pronounce oh-PHEH-lyah.3 I pronounce it as in French so stressing the -lie end.4 An English person could prpnounce it without problems imo.5 Lia is horrible. How about Felie? ^^

I think it's nice, especially when living in a French speaking country/area. Otherwise I prefer Ophelia. Don't really know how an average English speaker would handle it as English isn't my native language. I wouldn't use a nickname, but the one I like the most is probably Lia/Lie, or possibly Phee.

It's pretty. I prefer it to Ophelia. I pronounce it O-fe-LEE. I don't think it needs a nn, but Lia would work I guess. I think some English speakers might have a bit of trouble pronouncing it at first, but it's one of those names that's hard to mess up.
