Oh, well, I asked. It's generally a good idea to keep names you have emotional attachments to away from the Opinions board if you're the thin-skinned type. ;)

It's actually kind of cute when you approach it strictly as a nickname for a little girl. I think she'll outgrow it. She does have a real, completely different name to go by. But if not, it will be because she wants to be called Dewey, and if she likes it, that's all that matters.
