[Opinions] Vervain
Currently in LOVE with Vervain for a girl. Wdyt? What about combo ideas?

I like it in theory -- it's a wonderful plant, has a fun sound (the double V, the tailored quality), and looks nice written. The problem is I find it hard to say. For a plant, that's fine. To say it many times, as you would for a person... I don't know. Vervain! Vervain, be careful in that tree! Vervain, are you hungry? Hey Vervain, please speak up. It catches a bit in my mouth.

Vervain Isabel
Vervain Opal
I feel like the middle needs some strong vowel sounds to make the name easier to say overall.

An awesomely quirky but at the same time pretty name! I prefer spelling it Vervaine like previously suggested - it just makes it look like more of a name.

When I looked at the title of your post, I immediately thought that Vervain must be a boy's name. I suggest spelling it as Vervaine so that it's clearer that it's actually a girl's name. Some people will also be reminded of Morgaine, which will further help with seeing it as a girl's name.
With that said, the name is certainly original, but it's not my style. It also reminds me of the Belgian city Verviers and of verven, which means "to paint" in my native language (which is Dutch).

Vervain is the drug/herb that weakens vampires in the TV series The Vampire Diaries which I have watched since I was a kid so my huge association with that kind of ruins it as a name for me.
If I didn't have that association though I'm still not sure I think the sound of it. As previous posters have mentioned, the appearance of "vain" in there just isn't a virtue I'd want to bestow upon a child.

It looks better to me as Vervaine. That softens the whole feel of it. :)
I like it. It's been a gp for a long time.
The emphasis is on the VERV part so the vain is not that noticeable. VERV-ain.
I've never given much thought to combos because I never considered actually using it.
Maybe combined with something equally gp ... Vervain Fairlight

I've heard both pronunciations but I'm actually saying it like "ver-VAIN".
Vervain Fairlight sounds like a fairy princess :) I like it. I have a soft spot for Fairview but I like the sounds of Fairlight better

It does have that unfortunate "vain" at the end (you're so vain...) in addition to all the harsh "V" sounds. I do like the meaning, though. :)

Hi !!!
In Italian it is like in Latin 'verbena'.
I much prefer Verbena because Vervain has too strong the link with vein.
I love nature names anyway and Vervain has a beautiful gothic vibe.
